FIRE

We had very little snow fall this past winter and higher than normal temps this summer. Now it seems our entire state is burning down right now. There are a lot of firefighters on the line fighting it and we pray for their safety and for their families to have an extra measure of strength as their loved ones are risking their lives to save others homes. Many districts have been depleted, Jeff's district is not exception. Jeff has spent some time on a few local fires as well as some time on one of the bigger ones in our state. He has also gone on more calls within the district than usual. 

The air quality here stinks, so we have spent the majority of our days indoors. Here are some pictures of Jeff on the couple of fires he was on as well as pictures of how bad our air quality is.

Station 95 open house

Yesterday was the open house. Mason and Cooper went with Jeff for the entire time and helped out. They squeezed in a bit of fun too.

 

They added a few games this year. One was where they had to knock down a set of cones with the fire hose. This is Mason going up against one of the other firefighters sons. (Mason won)

FIRE

On June 11th, Jeff was called out to a fire just south of our city. I believe this was the first one he was on of the season, but not the first one. They are predicting a busy fire season since we had a very mild winter and have heated up quickly already this summer. We had a few days over 100 degrees this weekend and this week as well as last week will be in the 90's every day. Usually it doesn't get this hot until mid July into August.

Jeff spent 16 hours on fire calls with 13 of those hours on a wild fire on Saturday night and Sunday morning. All of this happened as we finished up working on backyard patio project for about 8 hours.

Santa Float

 Every year the Firefighters at Station 95 take Santa Claus out to visit the children and collect food for the food bank. This year was no exception. Though we have already sat on Santa's lap many times already, they couldn't resist seeing him again last night and getting a candy cane.

No one cried this year, this is a break in Christmas tradition.

 This past Saturday, Station 95, where Jeff volunteers had their annual open house. Even though the boys get to see the fire trucks quite often, they always enjoy going and hanging out with all the firefighters.

Saturday was the Station open house for the station that I volunteer at. We do open houses every year so the public can meet us and see how their money is being spent. Here are some photo's from the events.
