Riverfront Park Fun

Last Wednesday Jeff took the day off so we could go to Riverfront Park for the day.

We got there before the rides opened, so the boys enjoyed the big slide for awhile.

Then they rode on the carrousel three times. Jeff, the weak sauce that he is, felt really sick after the third time, and felt sick for the remainder of the day.

Shiloh and me waiting for the boys to get their fill of the carrousel. Look who we found....JARED!

Then it was time for some Farris wheel fun and rides.

And a trip to Riverfront Park would not be complete without feeding the garbage goat.
Mason tried to feed the goat his hat, but the goat didn't want it.
We ended up spending a total of 6 hours there and had a blast!

8 Months

This is such a typical picture of Shiloh. I would bet that in 75% or more pictures of her, she has her fingers in her mouth, probably because 75% of the time her fingers are in her mouth.

She is trying to crawl....

And has 4 teeth on the top and 1 on the bottom.

Friend Party

Mason had a birthday party with his friends today. They had pizza for lunch.

Then Mason opened presents.
And he got lots of Lego, which he loved!

Then they whacked the pinata.CarterBen

Once everyone had a whack at the pinata and it was busted open a bit, Jeff took it to the grass and dumped out the goods.

Then it was back inside to sing happy birthday and load the kids up with sugar before sending them home.

Thanks to everyone that came. Mason loved having his friends over to pa-tay!

Family Party

Last night we had a birthday party for Mason with family.

First we sang happy birthday to him and ate cupcakes and ice cream.

Then he opened presents.
Thanks to everyone who was able to come! I know it meant a lot to Mason that you all were there.

SIX!

My first baby turned six today. Mason really is such a great kid. He is always so willing to help out and loves to serve his family, especially when it comes to helping out with Shiloh. It is so obvious that he loves his younger siblings. Being able to serve makes him so happy. We love Mason and are so grateful he is part of our family.

Scootin around

In the last couple weeks, Shiloh has learned to go from being on her tummy to sitting up. She also likes to get on her tummy and stretch her arms and legs up as far as they will go. She scoots backwards and gets herself turned around while on her tummy.

She has also become a non-stop drool producer.

Her favorite thing to do, suck on these three fingers.
She has found a new favorite sleeping position. On her tummy with her legs under herself.

Yummy Goodness

Oh yeah, check out these beauties! I just harvested these from our garden. We have so many of these yummy strawberries ready for picking! I only picked what I could fit in this 8 cup bowl and we probably have another 16 cups or so ready to pick. I love summer and having fresh produce from my garden.

Distortion

Look how distorted looking Cooper's face is. This kid cracks me up. I love finding pictures on the camera that they have taken.

Fire 9 Family BBQ

Sunday was the annual Fire 9 Family BBQ. In years past, they have had a fire truck bouncy castle and other fun games for the kids. This year, the only thing they had for kids was a pinata. Which, speaking of the pinata, I am now the proud parent of an even prouder kid who's flawless pinata whacking technique busted open the pinata, freeing the coveted candy inside, making him the hero of the day to all the kids. Well, maybe not to the kids 6 year old and older, who didn't get the chance to be the hero. Sorry kids. Maybe next year.

Thankfully, they had the new ladder truck available for them to drool over. It has a 100 foot ladder and I have to admit, it was pretty impressive how high it gets, and how close to the ground it can also get when fully extended.

The new Ladder 91 and my cute boys.
Day dreaming about a future day when they can drive this thing.

Future fire fighters right here.

New Bike

A few weeks ago, Jeff took the boys to our ward's family campout, amd I stayed home with Shiloh. While they were gone, I found a bike on craigslist for Mason. Saturday morning, Shiloh and I went and picked it up. When they got hime, we surprised Mason with it. His face as soon as he saw it.
Trying it out.
He has been a little nervous riding a big bike, so we put training wheels on it. He is doing really well with that. I am sure it will be just a little bit longer and he won't need the training wheels.

First teeth

Last Friday, I thought I felt a tooth in Shiloh mouth when she was chewing on my finger, but when I felt the top and bottom in front, I didn't feel anything. As she began chewing on my finger again, I found this:

How weird is that? Her eye tooth on the right side came in first, then today, the eye tooth on the left side came in. I have never seen/heard of a baby getting their eye teeth first.
