Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. Here are just some of the pictures from all our good times.

Our ward has a Christmas brunch and Santa came.

The Sunday before Christmas...

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Longs...

Christmas Eve at home, we let the kids open their stockings, which had their Christmas pj's in them.

We left Pumpkin chocolate chiip cookies and chocolate milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Christmas morning...

Ahh the mess.

Kinley is super excited about Christmas can't you tell?

After we got the mess cleaned up, Grandma and Grandpa Borders came over to help make more messes.

We went over to see Great Grandma Borders later in the morning.

Christmas night we went to Grandpa and Grandma Meador's house.
We sang Christmas songs and Shiloh got really into the music. She danced the ngiht away and even fell into the tree once. Luckly, the tree survived.

Santa Float

Every year the Firefighters at Station 95 take Santa Claus out to visit the children and collect food for the food bank. This year was no exception. Though we have already sat on Santa's lap many times already, they couldn't resist seeing him again last night and getting a candy cane.

No one cried this year, this is a break in Christmas tradition.

Engine 95 - This is the engine from my station, looking beautiful as always.

Cooper's Kindergarten Field Trip

Cooper had his all day field trip today. Jeff was able to go with him. Cooper came home happy and tired.

Hanging out with the goat.

Mason's winter concert

Every time I go to one of Mason's concerts, I get a bit teary eyed. It seems to always hit me during the concerts that he is quickly growing up.

Can you see Mason?

Shooting Date

Jeff and I went shooting for one of our date last night. It had been a good  years since I had shot last. Jeff and I had a friendly compition to see who was the better shot.

Firing the 9mm

My target

If you go by points earned, I WON! Jeff says he won though because he had more shots to the head. Whatever. Weird logic. He lost.

Decorating for Christmas

We usually get our Christmas decor up the day after Thanksgiving. Since we had quite the eventful Thanksgiving, we didn't get any decorated until Dec. 1st.

I wonder if those three fingers will ever catch a break...

All I have to say about this picture is, I really, really wish I had a fireplace and mantle. IF we ever move, my next house WILL have a fireplace and mantle.

Aspiration

On Tuesday November 20th, around 11pm, Kinley was asleep in her bassinet. Kinley started to cough, then she puked, and coughed some more. She then began to cry. Her cry sounded really strange. I got out of bed to check on her. Her face was covered in puke. She continued to cry. Jeff went to grab her some clean clothes. When he came back, I started to undress her, she continued to cry. As soon as Jeff saw her stomach and the way she was breathing, he realized she had aspirated on her puke. We called our neighbor to come over so we could take her into the ER at Holy Family.
Once at Holy Family, she was taken back to a room pretty quickly. They drew blood and did a chest x-ray to check for signs of pneumonia. Both the blood work and x-ray came back normal. Kinley's heart rate and temp were both elevated though. (200bpm for her heart rate and 102 for her temp.) The ER doctor wanted to keep her for the next 24 hours to monitor her to make sure her heart rate and temperature returned to normal levels and that she did not develop pneumonia. Holy Family doesn't have much of a peds department, so at 4am, Wednesday morning, we were transfered to Sacred Heart.
Kinley did well all day Wednesday, but her heart rate and temp stayed elevated, so the peds doctor wanted to keep her there for yet another night. Jeff and Rich Nelson (a member of our ward) gave Kinley a priesthood blessing Wednesday evening. Around 11pm that night, Kinley's heart rate and temp returned to normal levels and she still was not showing any signs of phenomia.
Thursday (Thanksgiving) Kinley was discharged around noon. She has been diagonsed with silent reflux and now takes medication once a day that she absolutly hates!
For about a week after this lovely "event", Kinley's voice and cry were really horse sounding. She seems to be doing much better now.

In this video, you can kind of hear how raspy she was.
