Have you ever looked around on the ground after it rains? If you have, you've probably seen worms wiggling around down there.
On our way back from walking Mason to the bus this morning, Cooper noticed tons of worms all over the pavement. We had a good conversation about why they were there and if they we going to go back to their homes in the dirt.
After learning that some would make it back home and others would dry up before reaching their destination, Cooper became determined to save as many worms as possible. Kinley had fallen asleep on the way back, so I figured we had time to save a few. A few turned into probably close to 20. A walk that normally takes 2 minutes, took over 15.
Even though I was getting hungry and light headed due to running a mile on our elliptical earlier this morning and had not eaten anything yet, it was so worth it. Seeing how happy Cooper was when I went a long with his plan to save the worms, and how much happier he got with each worm we saved was well worth the hunger pains and light head.
Here are two worms we found by our driveway. Cooper is pointing at one and the other is behind his shoe.
Here are the same two worms after being saved.
