March happenings

Mason lost his front tooth. The adult tooth is coming in behind it. He will soon loose the other front tooth too because that ones adult tooth is coming in too.

Jeff made a cyclone with the kids. They played with it for several days until it started to leak. I threw it away. shhh don't tell them.

Video of the cyclone in action.

Shiloh got a purse from her great grandma Long. She loves it. She stuffs as much into as she can and carries it around with her everywhere.

Shiloh's other lover is books. We read book all the time. If we can get out of her room every night with reading less than 10 books we consider that a miracle.

Mason has been into writing us notes at night for us to find when we go to bed. They are usually left in the doorway to their room. The top one says, "Dear Mom and Dad, Wake mu up when you check on us. Your kid, Mason. Then it has a math problem to solve and it says "write back" in the top right corner. The bottom one says, "Dear Mom and Dad, Maybe for Easter or my Birthday I could get one small pack or a whole deck of pokemon cards. Your son, Mason. Do you agree with me or not? Yes or No Write back in the box."

Mason and Cooper both got flight suits from their Grandpa and Grandma Borders.

Shiloh is learning to take after her brothers.

Our kids really like veggie tales can you tell?

Oma

This is Jeff's grandma Borders. Our kids get confused when we say we are going to grandma Borders house. They always say, "Which one?" So to differentiate, we decided to start calling their great grandma Borders, "Oma" (grandma in German) because great grandma Borders was born in and grew up in Germany. Oma fell at the beginning of March and broke her ankle in 3 places. She had to have surgery on it and is not in a care facility for therapy. She has been there for almost a month now. We've made several visits. I can't tell who loves the visits more, her or the kids.
I am grateful that our kids have great relationships with all of their grandparents. That is something I did not have growing up. So that is something I wanted to help provide for them.

Big Horn Show

7 Months

Kinley is now 7 months old. It's hard to believe! Time sure is flying by. I feel like I don't get to enjoy this baby as much as I enjoyed my first baby. It can't be due to all my time being dominated by three other demanding children. No, that can't be it....

Kinley's first tooth poked through on the 16th of this month. Mason was playing with Kinley when he said, "Mom, there is something sharp in Kinley's mouth." So I went over to investigate. Sure enough there was her first tooth. Her second tooth soon followed a few days later.

She still really loves food. Here she was after eating TWO jars of food. Oink!

We finally got pictures of her rolling over.
Almost there!

Video of Kinley rolling over

Video of Kinley trying to crawl

And another of her trying to crawl

She started to sit up unassisted too.
Now she is getting herself into the crawling position. It'll be any day now.

"Dad, I just woke up, why are you getting a picture of me. "

Sleepy girl

One day after getting Cooper on the bus for school, I took Kinley up to bed. I let Shiloh watch a show while I was busy with Kinley. When I came back downstairs this is what I found:

Protesting her big girl bed?

Reptiles

There is a reptile store in the mall. We have gone there a few times in the past month or so to feed the turtles. You can buy a head of lettuce from the store for $2. That's some pretty cheep entertainment for the kids!

6 Months

Kinley finally rolled over for the first time. I think she decided a while back to wait until she could roll both ways before she would give either a try. I have not gotten any pictures of that yet. Hopefully I will soon. I did come across some videos the boys took trying to get her to roll over, they are at the end of this post.
Kinley started eating solids when she was 5 1/2 months old because she would cry after nursing, so I figured she was probably still hungry. It was love at first bite, well maybe not first bit, but soon after that. From the beginning she was eating an entire 4oz jar of food. Yes I give her the store bought stuff. I don't have time to make my own. I guess that's a check for the "not the best mommy column. Eh, I don't care. Oh and I'm fed her solids before she turned 6 months. There's another check for that column. Apparently, if you feed your baby any solids before 6 months, they are at a great risk for obesity. All I have to say about that is, ridiculous! Oh, and bring on the chub!

Not so sure about the carrots.

Loving the potatoes.

Mason was caught taking a video. At the end you can hear Cooper asking Mason if he saw what Kinley did. Mason responded, "yeah, I am filming it". BUSTED!

I love that the boys were trying to get her to roll over.

Cooper has the best laugh, and it is hard to get it on video, but here it is.

Kinley 6 month well child check up stats were:
15.6 lbs. (35%)
26.5 in. (70%)

Be My Valentine

We had a great Valentine's Day this year. Jeff surprised me with smoe new clothes. He did a really great job picking everything out too. When we went out for our 10 year anniversay a few weeks before Valentine's Day, he asked me if I would ever wear an outfit where your jearns are on the inside of your boots. I told him I would, but that I never have time to shop for myself, so I usually just end up wearing what ever I can pick out off the racks in 5 minutes or what other people buy me.

So he got me some skinny jeans, boots (so I can wear those skinny jeans on the inside of the boots), and a new cartigan. Everything fit really well too.

I got Jeff two new books. Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy and a candy bar.

We got each of the kids a little Valentine's gift too. Cookies and beef jerkey for the boys, cookies and a pez despencer for Shiloh, and books for Kinley.

Kinley wanted to eat Jeff's candy bar.

Kinley's Valentine's outfit says, "My first Valentine's Day. I love the heart on the butt.

We took the kids and Jeff's mom out to dinner at Red Robin.
